Draper Intermediate School
School Announcements :: Website Award :: Draper Intermediate School has been recognized as having the best website in the Wylie Independent School District this quarter.
The campus received this award based on their use of website tools, fantastic imagery, keeping the website up-to-date and overall look and feel. As a reward for his hard work, Mike Kraman received a wonderfully tasty cookie cake, sponsored by the 'Say It With Sugar' cake shop in Wylie. Congratulations to Mike and the entire Draper staff for creating a wonderful user experience. WCN May 10, 2012
You may have noticed that Draper Intermediate students were featured on the front page of The Wylie News on Wednesday, May 9th for our students’ efforts in earning recognition as one of the top 100 chip bag collectors in America out of almost 10,000 organizations that participate! The intent of “The Chip Bag Brigade” is to get students excited about recycling and repurposing while earning money for their school and giving back to the community. Student Council sponsors Danny Poellot, Kristin Sloppy, Robert Irwin, and Shelly Sisco coordinate this effort with members of the Student Council. All Draper Intermediate students participate in the effort. Congratulations, Draper students and Student Council! We are proud of you!
Student Council is sponsoring a shoe and cell phone drop on Thursday and Friday, May 17 and 18. We will accept any old cell phone for our Cell Phone Brigade. This includes standard cell phones, smartphones and Iphones. We will accept pairs of used shoes for our Paired Shoe Brigade. We cannot take roller skates, ice skates, ski boots, slippers or rubber flip-flops, but all other pairs of shoes are acceptable. Shoes must be in useable condition (for example, no holes in the soles) but do not need to be brand new. Students may bring their donated shoes and cell phones to school for drop-off in the Library on Thursday, May 17 or Friday, May 18. In addition, Student Council sponsors and members will be at Draper until 4:30 each of those days to accept donated items. Thank you for supporting the recycling and repurposing efforts of Draper Student Council!

Cleaning out closets?
As your students outgrow clothing that meets the Wylie ISD standardized dress expectations, please consider donating it to Draper. Our school nurse, Beth Thomas, is always in need of a variety of sizes of clothing. Belts are welcome, too. We will be sure all items are put to good use! Thank you!
Tab Drive
Students have started collecting the tabs from soda cans. We will collect these throughout the year to benefit the Ronald McDonald House.
How can you continue to support our school?
There are multiple ways that we are trying to raise funds for our students and our school. At any time you may turn in the following to the front office or one of your child’s teachers:
· Empty Capri Sun pouches
· Empty Frito Lay chip bags
· Box Tops for Education
· Campbell Soup Labels for Education
· Tyson Project A+ Labels.
· Receipts from any restaurant or store in Collin Creek Mall
